My child enjoyed her experience at Island Outdoor School so much. Every morning when I told her it was time for school, she would jump out of bed and scream with delight. Not just once, but every time. There were so many things to do. She loved swinging, playing in the dirt pile, swinging in the hammocks, and hanging out with her friends.
We definitely recommend this school. A++

Outdoor School Readiness
You may be wondering if your child is ready for Outdoor School, or if it's the appropriate setting for their learning.
Should you send our child to a nature school at the age of 2 ½ or 3?
The following are indicators that your child is ready to be part of an enrichment program like our nature-based school.
Is your child:
-
interested in being independent?
-
able to walk on their own without needing to be carried?able to pull up their own underwear, carry a backpack, learn to open their lunchbox?
-
able to regulate their emotions in a developmentally appropriate way?
-
able to stay with the group and not run ahead / away?
-
able to stop when an adult asks them to?
-
willing to attempt new tasks?
-
ready and able to listen to simple 1 to 2 step directions fairly consistently?
If you feel that your child is not ready to be at a nature-school quite yet, it is best to take some time until they are. We are not looking for all of these requests to be executed each and every time but the willingness to be a part of the process is important in order to be part of a larger community of peers!
